GENERAL INFORMATION

Adult discipleship at St. Mark’s UMC provides personal and communal spiritual growth opportunities to learn Christ’s teachings, live Christ’s way, and extend Christ’s love to our community and world.

SMALL GROUPS

We offer classes and small groups for adults of all ages and stages of life during our Sunday morning Grow Hour and throughout the week. We offer opportunities to meet in person or join in online via Zoom. Check out the latest list of our weekly discipleship opportunities below.

GROW HOUR

On Sunday mornings at 10 am, we have ongoing and short-term small groups. We offer a variety of opportunities including God 101 with Pastor Justin, Parents Small Group, Two Adult Sunday School classes, and Advent/Lenten Studies. See the latest updates below.

YOUNG ADULTS

We meet offsite one Friday a month to chat about life, faith, our questions, and adulting. Young(ish) adults (ages 18-37ish) in all stages of life are invited to join this inclusive group where various belief systems are welcome! No affiliation with St. Mark’s or the UMC necessary. SPIRITUAL GROW ASSESSMENT

Your results will give you an overall picture of how you assess yourself in regards to theological knowledge, spiritual transformation, and living out your faith. You will receive your results by email (not immediately). Cumulative results will guide our adult ministry team as we plan and schedule adult GROW groups and spiritual development activities.

Men’s “Fellaship” Small Group Rm 202 7-8 pm
We are a fairly diverse group ranging in age from late 30s to 70+. We are married and single, young families and adult children, active in the faith and just getting started. We have read Christian books by authors such as Max Lucado and Francis Chan, studied scripture and completed mission projects. Most importantly, we meet weekly to discuss life’s challenges living the life of a Christian today while enjoying each other’s company. Currently, we enjoy video series from RightNow Media and are studying Colossians by Louie Giglio.

OTHER GROUPS

UNITED METHODIST MEN

The purpose of the St. Marks’ United Methodist Men (UMM) is to help men know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do His will. The UMM seek to help men grow in learning of the Bible and how to deal with everyday challenges. We hold fundraisers throughout the year to support different ministries, like our Good Samaritan Fund, Heart Havens, Youth, etc.

The Walk to Emmaus focuses on God as known through Jesus Christ and on the expression of that awareness in the local church. The Emmaus experience is intended to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, and places of work.
