Our hope for our 6th-12th grade students is that they grow where they are loved, live into who they were created to be, and love everyone always.

Parents’ Night Out, 6-8:30 pm

Our Student Ministry is hosting Parents’ Night Out! It is our hope to be able to provide childcare (supervised in collaboration with parents of students, adult members of the student ministries team and our great nursery staff) for a couple hours on December 13 from 6-8:30 pm.

We’re raising money in support of our mission trips in San Francisco and here in Richmond. Dinner will not be provided, but we will have cookies and milk for dessert together. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas. We’ll be watching the newest Grinch movie! We’d love for your kids to join us for a fun evening! This is a really great opportunity for parents to enjoy a date night or a take advantage of the chance to shop for Christmas.

We’re asking for a $10 donation per child, but would be very appreciative if you wanted to give more in support of our mission trip. Sign up HERE!

See our Upcoming Events page for current information on all events!

Our youth group meets most Sundays throughout the school year from 2–3:30 pm in the Basement. We play games, talk about Jesus and how much we are loved. We use the Orange curriculum and like to walk alongside our students’ parents to help enrich the faith journeys of the young people in our church.

We have small groups for Middle & High School Girls (weekly), Middle School Guys (weekly) & High School Guys (monthly) led by committed volunteers.

Our girl’s small group (G.I.F.T.) meets on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm then has fun events twice a month throughout the summer. Contact Laura Godwin (lagodwin14@gmail.com) or Sandy Wingen (sandy.wingen1961@gmail.com) to get involved!

Our young men’s small group (R.O.O.T.S.) meets on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm. Contact Rick Wingen (rick.wingen1963@gmail.com) to get involved!

Each fall, we attend a retreat for middle & high school students at Watermarks Camp in Scottsville, VA. The cost is $140 per student. In February, middle & high school students go to Eagle Eyrie for the Richmond District retreat. The cost for the District retreat is $135. Each retreat features a dynamic speaker who specializes in student ministry, a worship band, small groups and relationship-building.

In the Summer, we attend a weeklong mission trip focusing on ministry with the homeless, light home repairs and cleaning. In the past, we have gone to Nashville, Washington D.C., Boston & Philadelphia. These trips range in cost from $250-$700. We work throughout the year to fundraise support to help alleviate the cost.

Our student worship team leads the church in a song 4 times a year and also leads worship for youth group on most Sundays. We plan and lead the church in worship, scripture, and teaching every year on St. Mark’s Youth Sunday. Opportunities to greet, usher, read scripture, lead in worship, preach, sing, and play instruments are available for our students, as well.
