My name is Richard Worcester and I am a member of the Finance Committee here at St. Mark’s. I would like to take a moment to talk about online giving. Many of our members currently use online giving. They find it an easy and effective way to support their church. To those members, we say thank you.

For our members who have not set up an online account, we would encourage you to do so.

There are a number of reasons to give online. If you aren’t able to attend church, you can still give. It allows you to give any day of the week. Passing the offering plate once a week constrains generosity and makes giving more difficult. With online giving, you can give at any time.

Online giving is much faster and more versatile. Bank debits, credit card transactions and text giving are all possible. People don’t often carry cash and checks are becoming less popular. Online giving is easy and more secure. When cash or checks pass several hands, something unintended could happen. With online giving, that is not a concern.

Online giving means faster gift processing. A church administrator has many things to do and online giving frees up their time to do the more important work of the church.

Online giving is a way to enhance recurring contributions. You don’t need to look for your checkbook five minutes before church or try to remember the last time you gave. It enables you to systematically give and makes your family budgeting easier.

When you give online, the church has an immediate record of your contact information which creates an easier way to manage member information. Online giving enables an integration with the church’s data management and makes it easier to keep you informed of the church activities.

It is so easy to set up an online account. Let me walk you through the steps.

  1. On your computer’s internet, go to
  2. Find the green bar and click on “Create Account.”
  3. Where prompted, enter your name and email address and click “continue”.
  4. You will be sent an email and an invitation to create your user account. Go to your email, click on the invitation and find the create account prompt.
  5. Enter your name in the first block and your password in the second block.

It’s that simple; you have now set up your account and you are ready to give online. If you need additional help in setting up your online account, call Hannah at the church office and she will be happy to assist you. If you haven’t already done so, please consider setting up an online account. It will make your life easier and it also benefits our church. Thank you.
